Some of the younger members of my family suggested I should also include some data about myself on this page (such as Astrological Sign, favorite colors, food, sports, hobbies, etc.) and so I did, but please keep in mind this is not a single person's profile from Meetic. Now I have decided to add also my favorite worst enemies.

ARTS & ARTISTS

My all life has evolved around arts and artists: my mother and her friends, my cousins, uncles and
aunts, my grandfather... These are just some
of my favorite artists and their work.

I have always had an eclectic taste in music: from classical to hip-hop, or disco, or techno. It is not the style that draws me into music but the ability to unlock doors in my brain. Music is like an addictive drug with beneficial side effects.

MOVIES & PLAYS

I have always been very passionate about cinema and theatre (as well as opera). There was a time in my life when I could watch two or three movies a day, then life caught up with me. But now, with all these new technologies, it is almost possible to have your own private little cinema and enjoy any kind of movie, play or musical.

Detail from the Saint Vincent Panels, an iconic polyptych attributed to Nuno Gonzalves, a Portuguese painter from the 15th century. The Saint Vincent Panels are like a photograph of the nation: a group of people posing in an elaborate composition of power and position. It is one of my favorite paintings of all times.

The Outcast (O Desterrado) is a sculpture by Soares dos Reis a Portuguese 19th century artist. It represents a young man reclining by the sea-side. In the image to the left: please notice the light changes that seem to affect the mood of the statue.

PEOPLE & PLACES

We are, as individuals, a walking collection of people we have met and places we have been to. Everyone we meet and everywhere we go makes an indelible impression on us. I have always been fascinated by the thought that we might be just that: a reflection of the environment and others, or if we want to take it a step further, a reflection of Creation. This page provides information about some of my favorite people and places, when I met or visited them and what it meant to me.
